Pros:

Reimagining of classic sounds and song structures for a modern audience is exciting and unusual, giving the album a distinct place within the genre

Arrangements and layering are lush and quite beautiful, accenting accessible acoustic grooves with lovely string and vocal additions

Sustains an intimate atmosphere throughout, drawing the listener in

Cons:

Does little to evolve from its classic influences, content to emulate the past rather than move forward

Lyrical content, aside from a few welcomed exceptions, fails to take advantage of the atmosphere

Best: Letter To My 13 Year Old Self

Worst: California and Me

6/10 Excited for more
