Pros:

Lead saxophone playing is equal parts technically masterful and effortlessly evocative, providing wondrous momentum and melody to a majority of the album

Accompanying instrumental performances are similarly impassioned and capture the spirit of the genre, providing some infectious percussive rhythms and piano countermelodies

Production captures the spirit of an intimate live performance exceedingly well

Cons:

Somewhat unmemorable and indistinct, often lacking catchy hooks that would elevate some tracks greatly

A tad meandering and drawn out at times, featuring some needlessly overextended solos

Best: Naima

Worst: Cousin Mary

8/10 Terrifically tender
